this blog was up for a day until i found out it wasn't for sure.  now we know...

This is the last blog that I posted...

This blog is dedicated to the late Josh Smith...
This blog is not to gain pity from anyone. This blog is to help people help others. In fact, if I get any replies that ask if I am ok or any "I'm sorries", I will delete your comment.
My friend, Josh Smith, put a gun in his mouth the other day. There were things in his life that nobody could control. Josh was one of those kids who always had a smile on his face. Hee was shy but seemed to be carefree. He had been getting involved with his church, and seemed to be living a good life. But as they say, things weren't as they appeared. Josh lived in a home where alcoholism was a problem. Josh started doing drugs and drinking. In the end Josh's mom talked to him in the afternoon and Josh seemed fine. She went to the store a little later and then returned home. She yelled for Josh, but there was no answer. She thought nothing of it and took a nap. Later on while she was doing laundry she walked past Josh's room. She looked in and saw his feet on the floor.
The reason that I say all this is to make people aware. Get involved in your friends lives. Think beyond yourself. My dad had a chance to go and talk to Josh's dad when he knew that his dad was drinking with Josh, but he didn't. One thing that I left out was that Josh was 21. Our society says that we can do things on our own. This is a lie. We need each other people.
If you are a parent reading this, please take this to heart. Raise your kids right. Be there for them when they want to talk. Take time for them every night when you come home from work. Make them the priority in your life (excepting only God).
You know what the sad thing is? When Josh killed himself, he didn't leave a note. You know what that says to me? It tells me that Josh was at a point in his life that he felt nobody cared anymore. He was at a point where he felt that his family didn't deserve to know why he did what he did. Josh was at the end of his rope.
We will miss you Josh. I'm sorry that more of us weren't there for you when you needed it. I wish we could have helped...

something from the other night...

ok...so it is late and i had some thoughts earlier.  these are just some questions for all of you to think about.  i know what i think about them, but what do you think?  so here they are...do you think that God has a thought out plan for our lives?  do you think that sometimes maybe God doesn't care one way or the other about some of our decisions?  i'm not saying that God doesn't care about us, but just maybe that one path or the other would be just fine in some instances.  think about it.

well it has been quite a while.  xanga just isn't what it used to be.  i am now on myspace and facebook.  i have been there for a while and spend most of my time there.  i don't neglect xanga, but there is never anybody here.  seems like all of my friends are moving over to myspace.  things are good.  hate homework.  that is about it.  ready to get back to SD!!!  pray that i can pass all of my classes.

so check this out.  i have this friend who "accidentally" flushed her cell phone down the toilet last night.  i never thought i would live to see that one (smooth move Danae)!  things are going well.  lots of homework.  chilling with friends.  we actually took one of our couch and chairs outside and sat on the lawn for two and a half hours on valentines day.  it was a ton of fun!  there were 4 of us originally.  we had quite a few people cycle through though.  well that's it for now!

Tests suck!  I had one yesterday that I was totally ready for.  Then last night at about 1 am, I realized that I had another test this morning!  I haven't bombed a test that big in a long time.  I still have to play catch up in a few of my classes.  Things are going really well, but I feel really old here at college.  When I was in the dorms, I was the 2nd oldest (right under the dorm manager!).  That is a really weird feeling.  Well back to the grind!
